Tournament Rules
Rules differ slightly between Elementary and Upper divisions. Tap a tab to view each set.
Game Format
- 3-on-3, half-court play
- Games are 20 minutes long, or first team to a winning point total — whichever comes first
- Each team is guaranteed multiple pool games

Scoring
- 1 point inside the arc
- 2 points outside the arc

Possession & Substitutions
- Check ball at the top of the key after each made basket and after fouls
- Substitutions during dead balls only

Sportsmanship
The Shada has been a community tournament since 1994 — sportsmanship is non-negotiable. Unsportsmanlike conduct can result in team disqualification at the tournament director's discretion.

Tiebreakers
